Amendment to the Statutes of the Supreme Order of the Most Holy Annunciation

Umberto I By the Grace of God and the Will of the Nation King of Italy, Sovereign Head of the Supreme Order of the Most Holy Annunciation

Having seen Article 78 of the Fundamental Statute of the Kingdom;

Having heard the advice of the President of the Council of Ministers, the Ministerial Secretary of State for the Interior, and the interim Foreign Minister; By our motu proprio and by virtue of our royal prerogative, we have and do by these presents decree that:

Article I

Article II

The Large Collars of the Supreme Order of the Most Holy Annunciation shall be placed in the care of the Treasurer General of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus. The original diplomas and Roll of Knights of the Annunciation shall be deposited with the Chancery of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus.

Article III

Every disposition contrary to the present decree is hereby abrogated.

We command that the present decree, bearing the seal of the State, be placed in the Official Registry of laws and decrees of the Kingdom of Italy, to be made available to whomever shall seek to view it.

TRANSLATOR'S NOTE: His Royal Highness Prince Vittorio Emanuele, Duke of Savoy, son and heir of King Umberto IIof Italy is the present Grand Master of the dynastic orders of the Royal House of Savoy, including the Order of the Annunciation. His ratification of 1985 reflects the fact that the statutes of 1869 supplemented by the amendment of 1889, are still in force today.
